BRISTOL, R.I. – On Sunday, members of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) traveled to Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I. to spend the day with a group of Special Olympics athletes in the area.
Curry was represented by the Colonels SAAC president Brett Sinclair and Phil Kiss. Both Sinclair and Kiss are members of the hockey team. "It was a very productive day discussing and sharing ideas with other campuses and learning what other student-athletes concerns are," said Sinclair.
The group, which consisted of 20 CCC student-athletes representing nine member schools, spent the afternoon playing bocce and other lawn games with nearly a dozen local Special Olympians.
After an hour of competition, the student-athletes and Special Olympians got together for lunch and took the opportunity to get to know each other.
