Bortolotti is in his second season as the Head Coach in 2017-18 for the Curry College baseball team after spending seven seasons as the Assistant/Pitching Coach.
His 2018 Colonels finished the season with a 10-19 overall record, including a 4-12 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC). Bortolotti produced two First Team All-Conference performers, headlined by CCC Defensive Player of the Year in Justin Cage (Glendora, Calif.).
He played baseball at Milton (Mass.) High School, where he achieved all-scholastic honors, led his team to the Division I Eastern Mass. State Championship in 1974, and was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008. Bortolotti played his college ball at UMass Amherst, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in business management/accounting.
During his college years, Bortolotti pitched for Mass. Envelope of the Boston Park League, and for the Natick Knights of the Stan Musial League. He finished his playing career as a player/coach with the Braintree White Sox of the South Shore Coast/Cranberry League.
Active in baseball and softball camps and clinics, Bortolotti coached the Bay State Strikers 18U Junior Olympic softball team to a 2007 Class A State title.
He runs his family’s third-generation plastering business in Milton, where he resides with his wife and three children. His daughter Jenna recently graduated from Endicott College and was a member of the Gulls’ women’s softball team. She earned the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) “Pitcher of the Year” award in 2010 and 2011. His son Mike attended at Babson College, where he was member of the Beavers’ baseball team, and an all-conference performer in 2011 and 2013.
