At the 9:53 minute mark senior Matt Audet (Campbell, Calif.) cut Western New England's deficit in half. Classmate Matt Smethurst (Rexford, N.Y.) recorded his first of two assists on the night when he sent the pass to Audet for the tally. Just 42 seconds later the Golden Bears notched the tying score on a power-play goal. Junior Matt O'Dea (Orland Park, Ill.) netted the goal seven seconds in to the man-up situation. O'Dea fired the puck over the shoulder of Curry's freshman netminder Frank Cundiff (Oceanside, N.Y.). He was assisted by Smethurst and freshman Nolan Zweep (Abbotsford, B.C.).
