DANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced today that Wentworth Institute of Technology will be the top seed in the 2015 ECAC Division III Women's New England Soccer Championship. The Leopards finished the regular season with a 16-2-2 overall divisional record.
This year's tournament features a field of eight schools. The quarterfinals will be held on Wednesday, with the semifinals and final slated to take place Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
In the quarterfinals, top-overall seed Wentworth will host No. 8 Smith College (7-7-5), while No. 4 University of New England (11-5-0) will take on the fifth seed, Framingham State College (11-7-2). In the other portion of the bracket, No. 2 Endicott (9-8-2) will host seventh-seeded Emerson College (11-6-1), and No. 3 Elms College (16-4-1) will face No. 6 Curry College, who finished the season with a 13-6-1 divisional record.The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday hosted by the highest remaining seed. Start times for the semifinal and final rounds will be determined at the conclusion of the first round.
The winner of Wentworth/Smith will square off against the winner of UNE/Framingham State, while the winner of Endicott/Emerson will square off against the winner of Elms/Curry.
The winner of the semifinals will advance to the championship on Sunday, Nov. 15.
First Round – Wednesday, Nov. 11
No. 8 Smith (7-7-5), vs. No. 1 Wentworth (16-2-1) – 11 a.m.
No. 7 Emerson (11-6-1) vs. No. 2 Endicott (9-8-2) – 7 p.m.
