Vail Named as TCCC and ECAC Player of the Week

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College senior first baseman Rick Vail (Lynnfield, Mass.) was named as Player of the Week by both The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) for the week of March 22-28.
Vail batted .750 (8-for-12) with three doubles, eight RBI and 10 runs scored in just three games played, as Curry slugged its way to a perfect 3-0 weekly record and ran its perfect TCCC record to 7-0.
Vail opened the week with two hits, a RBI and a runs scored in Curry’s 16-15 slugfest win at Eastern Nazarene. He followed with seven hits, seven RBI and nine runs scored in a doubleheader sweep at Salve Regina. Vail, who also drew five walks to bolster his weekly on-base percentage to .778, was a big part of a Colonels’ lineup that outscored the opposition 54-19 over the three games played.
