Mass.-Boston
Milton, MA - The Curry baseball team fell to UMass Boston on Monday, 19-9 in seven innings. The Colonels are now 6-20 on the season, while the Beacons are 17-14.
The Beacons scored four runs in the first to open the game up, but the Colonels answered right back with four runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Michael Frausto, Devin Grove, and Cooper Salter each had RBI hits.
But the Beacons then scored 11 straight runs, including seven in the third to go up 15-4. The Colonels showed some fight though, scoring four in the fourth and one in the fifth. Those runs came on an error, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly, and a caught stealing. This made it 15-9, but UMB then scored twice in the sixth and seventh, making it 19-9, and enacting the run rule.
The Colonels had seven hits, with Frausto being the lone batter with two hits. The Colonels used five different pitchers, all of which gave up at least two runs.
Up Next - The Colonels will look to end an 11 game losing streak on Tuesday when they travel to Gordon.
