Beverly, MA - Curry College baseball dropped both ends of it's final Conference of New England doubleheader on the road Saturday, falling 3-0 and 11-1 to Endicott at North Field.
Game #1
In game one, Curry was held off the scoreboard despite a solid effort on the mound. Henry Marino kept the Colonels within reach through 4.2 innings, but a two-run home run in the first inning and an RBI single in the fifth accounted for all of Endicott's offense in the 3-0 final.
The Colonels managed just three hits in the opener, with Michael Frausto, Blake Fuller, and Nick Krise each recording one. Endicott's pitching duo of Brady Stuart and Evan Scully combined to strike out 14 Curry hitters and allow just two walks, shutting down any offensive momentum.
Game #2
Game two saw Endicott jump out early, plating four runs in the first inning and adding four more in the second to build an 8-0 advantage. The Gulls continued to tack on runs throughout, finishing with 11 on 11 hits.
Curry's lone run came in the fourth inning when Aaron Siegal drove in Brandon Mantilla-Mercado, who reached on a double. Mantilla-Mercado and Blake Fuller each recorded two hits to lead the Colonels offensively.
Seamus Jones took the loss in game two after allowing eight runs in two innings of work, while Sean Higgins and Dan MacLean combined to finish the game out of the bullpen.
