Everett, MA - The Curry Men's Hockey team defeated Wentworth on Friday 4-2 to improve to 14-5-0 on the season, and 11-3-0 in CNE play. The Leopards are now 4-13-1 and 3-10-0.
Despite the Colonels more than doubling the Leopards up on shots in the first two periods, neither team would find the back of the net until the third period. Killian Rowlee struck first, as he scored on assists from Nicolas Lariviere and Victor Daigneault just three minutes into the period. After seven more minutes without a goal, things finally began to pick up. First it was Mason Kesselring, and then Taurin Haddon-Harris less than three minutes later to make it 3-0. The Leopard responded four minutes after that with a goal, and then made it 3-2 a minute later. But the Colonels would hold on, and an empty net goal by Jesse Galassi with three seconds left in the game sealed the deal.
The Colonels outshot the Leopards 40-21, and split the 68 faceoffs even at 34 each.
Ryan Rhodes picked up the win in net for the Colonels, as he stopped 19 of the 21 shots he faced. Both goals he allowed came with Wentworth's goalie pulled.
Up Next - The two teams will do it again on Saturday at the Canton Ice House at 3pm.
