West Hartford, CT - The Curry College men's lacrosse team dropped a 23-2 decision to Hartford on Saturday afternoon in conference action at Al-Marzook Field.
Curry faced an early deficit as Hartford erupted for seven first-quarter goals, quickly setting the tone. Kai Johnson put the Colonels on the board with an unassisted goal midway through the opening frame, but Curry trailed 7-1 after one.
Hartford continued to control the pace in the second and third quarters, outscoring Curry 12-0 across those periods to extend its lead to 19-1 heading into the final quarter.
Blake Rothstein netted Curry's second goal of the contest in the fourth quarter, finishing off an unassisted effort with just under five minutes remaining.
Despite the scoreline, Curry goalkeeper Niko DeCola recorded 16 saves while facing a heavy offensive barrage.
Rothstein posted five shots, including three on goal, while Nicholas Cole added a team-high six shots. Defensively, Curry collected 12 ground balls, with multiple players contributing in a challenging outing.
