Milton, MA - The Curry Men's Lacrosse team beat Gordon on Wednesday 15-8 to improve to 3-9 on the season and 1-4 in CNE play. The Fighting Scots are now 1-8 and 0-5.
Curry played a complete first quarter, outscoring their opponent 6-2. Four of those goals came from Jed Cappuccino, including three in the last four minutes of the period. The other two goals came from Nicholas Cole and Donovan Mawhinney. The Colonels then shutout Gordon in the second 3-0, with goals from Cappuccino, Mawhinney, and Cole. The Colonels added four more in the third, two from Cappuccino, and one each from Khai Baldwin and Kyle Bouley. The Colonels cruised to the win in the fourth, with Cole and Matt Pfister each scoring.
The Colonels forced 12 turnovers, led by Pfister and Bryce Hagerty with two each.
The story of the game was Jed Cappuccino, as he scored seven goals. The seven goals ties him for the fourth most goals in a single game, just one off the record of eight, which has happened three times.
Goalie Niko DeCola made 11 saves in net for the win.
