Devin Newell enters his second season as an Assistant Coach with the men’s lacrosse program in 2021-22.

Outside of Curry, Newell has coached at the Piatelli Lacrosse Club and Prime Time Lacrosse. While with Prime Time, he served as a coach and recruiter.

Newell has also held office positions at BTX Global Logistics and Choate Hall & Stewart during the summer months. From 2015 through 2019, he worked at Thompson Island in Boston where was responsible for all aspects of private corporate events, conferences, and weddings, including setup/breakdown, provisions, management of personnel throughout for day and overnight events.

Newell, a four-year member of the Colonels’ men’s lacrosse program, appeared in 69 games in his career. He recorded 211 points on 125 goals and 86 assists to go along with 146 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.

Additionally, Newell was selected to participate in the 2019 NEILA Senior East-West All-Star Game. He rewrote the Curry Men’s Lacrosse record book by setting the program marks for most games played in a career (66), most assists recorded in a career (85), most points scored in a career (207), and contributed to both the most goals by a duo in a season (89) and most goals by a trio in a season (116).

Newell graduated from Curry in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Management, was a three-time All-Conference selection, and was named a captain during the 2018-19 academic year.
