Track and Field Compete at Jim Sheehan Invite
Fitchburg, MA - The Curry Track and Field team competed at the Jim Sheehan Invite on Saturday, hosted by Fitchburg State.
As was the case last meet, it was the experienced cross-country runners who excelled, competing in the distance events. Blaise Denson finished in seventh in the 5000m with a time of 16:19, ahead of Alex Nason who finished in 10th at 16:57.05. Elsewhere, Eli Arriaga finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 1.77m, and ninth in the triple jump at 12.34m, a personal best. The top finisher for the Colonels was Theo Joseph-Seale, as he finished second in the shot put with a personal best of 14.47m.
For the women, the first iteration of the 4x800m relay team finished in third place with a time of 12:06.48. Morgan Slough finished in 13th in both the shot put (9.17m) and the 200m dash (28.53). Another two-sport athlete, Nevaeh Scribner, finished in 13th in the 400m dash with a time of 1:04.96.
Up Next - The Colonels will compete at the Silfen Invitational next weekend at Connecticut College.
