Track and Field Compete in Silfen Invitational
New London, CT - Curry College track & field turned in a full weekend of competitive performances at the 2026 Silfen Track & Field Invitational at Connecticut College, highlighted by podium finishes, personal-best performances, and strong depth across events against a deep New England field.
Women's Recap
The Colonels saw solid contributions across sprints, distance, and the field events.
On the track, Mackenzie Husson led the way with a third-place finish in the 5,000 meters, clocking 20:22.94, while Sarah Kerr competed in the 800 meters and multiple field events, showing versatility throughout the meet. In the middle distances, Samantha Santos raced the 400 meters, and Laraeler Rossow represented Curry in both the 1500 meters and long jump.
In the field, Curry's freshmen made an impact. Nevaeh Scribner placed eighth in the triple jump (9.68m) and tied for 12th in the high jump, while Morgan Slough competed across multiple disciplines, including the 100 and 200 meters, shot put, and javelin throw. The Colonels also showed depth in the throws, with several athletes gaining valuable meet experience in large event fields
Men's Recap
The men's squad delivered some of Curry's top performances of the weekend.
Distance standout Blaise Denson finished second in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:56.05, while Alex Nason added a solid effort in the same event and competed in the 800 meters. Linus Kiser posted a top‑10 finish in the 800 meters, helping anchor Curry's presence in the middle-distance events.
In the field events, Theo Joseph‑Seale had an outstanding meet, placing second in the shot put (14.05m) and third in the discus throw (43.73m), while also competing in the hammer and javelin. JoDanny Fleurival added a third-place finish in the long jump (6.39m) and ran on both the sprint and 4x400 relay squads.
Curry's relay teams showed promise, highlighted by a fifth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay, with the all-freshman quartet continuing to gain experience. In the horizontal jumps, Eli Arriaga contributed in the long jump, triple jump, and high jump, showcasing versatility across multiple events.
