Harrison, NY - The Curry Men's Volleyball team moved to 3-3 on the season on Friday when they took down Manhattanville in four sets by a score of 25-14, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16. It was the host Valiants first match of the season.
Up 6-5 in the first set, the Colonels used a 7-0 run to grab control, and they never let go, as they took the set 25-14.
The second set was much closer, and the two teams would go back and forth. The Colonels trailed 21-19, but a 4-0 run featuring kills from Chris Milfort, Nicholas Watson, and Jayden Garcia swung momentum back to Curry, and they took the set 25-23.
After dropping the third set, the Colonels got back to business in the fourth. They used a 6-0 run to grab the lead in the set, and never looked back as they took it 25-16.
It was a team effort on offense, as Chris Milfort (12 kills), Nicholas Watson (8 kills), Brock Beggs (7 kills), and Jayden Garcia (5 kills) all contributed. Nyko Whitaker set most of those up with 31 assists. Braden Alpert led the team with 11 digs, while Garcia led in blocks with five.
Up Next - Curry will spend the night in New York before taking on St. Joseph's (LI) and Hunter on Saturday in a tri-match.
