Milton, MA - The Curry Men's Volleyball team fell to NEVC opponent SUNY Potsdam on Friday in straight sets, losing 25-23, 25-22, 25-21. The Colonels are now 11-12 on the season, and 1-4 in NEVC play. The Bears are now 8-4 and 3-2.
The Colonels led by as many as six in the first set, at 18-12, but would lose the set after Potsdam went on an 8-1 run to grab control. The second set was a similar story, as the Colonels led 11-8, but gave up a 7-0 run to give the SUNY school momentum. The two teams would trade points, but the Bears ended the set on a 6-1 run to take it 25-22. The Bears were the team to grab an early lead in the third set, and they never gave it up, winning the set and the match.
Chris Milfort led the offense with eight kills, and his first of the match was his 500th career kill, becoming the first player in program history to reach that mark. Right behind him was Nicholas Watson with seven kills. Nyko Whitaker was the middleman, recording 19 set assists.
Up Next - The Colonels will have a quick turnaround, as they will travel to Albany, NY on Saturday to take on Sage and Hartwick.
