Softball Splits With Gordon
Wenham, MA - The Curry softball team split their CNE doubleheader at Gordon on Saturday, falling 8-0 in game one before winning game two 5-4. The Colonels are now 12-24 on the season and 5-13 in CNE play, while the Fighting Scots are 11-24 and 3-15.
Game One
Gordon scored three runs in the first inning, and then four in the second to grab control, and never looked back. They walked things off with a run in the fifth to win via the run rule. The Colonels lone hit of the game came on a Cailene Dupras single to lead off the fifth.
Game Two
Curry scored in each of the first four innings, starting with a Morgan Barmash RBI single in the first. Adrianna Capozzi and Renee Gonneville had RBI hits in the second, with Capozzi's being a triple, and then Katie Tobin and Cailene Dupras had RBI singles in the third and fourth innings. This gave the Colonels a 5-1 lead, anbd they would hold on to win the game 5-4.
The Colonels had 13 hits in the game, with Dupras, Barmash, Izzy Henderson, and Gonneville each having two.
Barmash picked up her fourth win in the pitching circle, going all seven innings. She allowed nine hits and four earned runs, and struck out two.
Up Next - The Colonels will celebrate their Senior Day on Tuesday against Mass Maritime, with the first game scheduled for 2:30pm.
