January 31, 2026
Williamstown, MA - Curry College women's basketball faced a strong Williams squad on the road in a non-conference matchup, and ultimately came up short in an 81–58 setback at the Chandler Athletic Center.
Williams established control early, jumping out to a 21–9 advantage after the opening quarter. Despite the early deficit, the Colonels settled in during the second quarter, and were able to find better rhythm on offense. Curry was only outscored 20-14 in the period, but still trailed 41–23 at halftime.
Coming out of the break, Curry delivered its strongest stretch of the game. The Colonels scored 18 points in the third quarter, matching Williams basket for basket and showing resilience against the Ephs lineup. Samantha Conti led the charge and Lauren Dunn also contributed key buckets and knocked down 4-for-4 attempts at the line.
Ella Palanza was active on the glass, collecting eight rebounds and helping Curry limit second-chance opportunities, while Grace Fleuriel provided a spark off the bench with strong interior play and perfect shooting from the line.
In the fourth quarter, Williams pulled away by capitalizing on perimeter opportunities and shot effectively at the line despite limited opportunities. The Ephs connected on 10 three-pointers in the game and shot over 60 percent from beyond the arc. Micah Walton (15) and Tatum Leuenberger (16) spearheaded the Williams attack combining for 31 points.
Conti finished with a team-high 15 points for Curry, while Dunn added 12 points and Palanza chipped in seven points and eight rebounds. Curry shot nearly 90 percent from the free-throw line (17-for-19), but struggled from long range and couldn't quite contain the Ephs attack.
Up Next: The Colonels return home on Tuesday evening, hosting CNE opponent the Western New England Golden Bears at 5:30 PM.
