Canton, MA - The Curry Women's Hockey team fell to 7-5-1 on the season and 3-3-1 in CNE play on Saturday after losing at home to JWU 2-1. The Wildcats are now 6-6-0 and 4-2-0. Prior to the game the Colonels recognized their alumni with a ceremonial puck drop.
Neither team scored in the first period, but the Colonels controlled the pace of the game, outshooting the Wildcats 12-5. The two teams continued a defensive battle in the second, and appeared to be headed to another scoreless period. But the Wildcats struck for the first goal of the game with around three minutes left in the period. They then doubled their lead a minute into the third. The Colonels pulled their goalie for an extra attacker late in the third, and got a goal back with 50 seconds remaining, as Kylie Harrison scored. But they were unable to find an equalizer.
The Colonels outshot the Wildcats 34-19, and won the faceoff battle 32-20.
Coriann Hoag stopped 17 of the 19 shots she faced.
Up Next - The Colonels will head to Nichols next Friday for a 4:40pm start.
