Burrillville, RI - The Curry Women's Hockey team defeated the Nichols Bison on Friday 4-1, moving to 8-5-1 overall, and 4-3-1 in CNE play. The Bison are now 4-11-0 and 1-9-0.
Despite outshooting the Bison 14-7 in the first period, it wasn't until the literal last second of the period that the Colonels finally scored, as Bella Mardesich scored from Margot Oxman and Rian Faery. The Colonels then doubled their lead about four minutes into the second period. They would further extend it with two goals in the third, first Allison Waara 90 seconds into the period, and then Mardesich again, this time seven minutes into the third.
Curry dominated play, and doubled the Bison in shots each period, ultimately outshooting them 48-22. The two teams split the 58 total faceoffs with 29 each.
Coriann Hoag stopped 21 of the 22 shots she faced.
Up next - The two teams will battle again on Saturday at 3pm in Canton.
