Canton, MA - The Curry Women's Hockey team fell for the third straight game, losing to Western New England on Friday 2-1. The Colonels are now 9-8-1 on the season and 5-6-1 in CNE play. The Golden Bears are now 12-6-0 and 8-3-0.
The Golden Bears scored first 13 minutes into the game, and doubled their lead with three minutes left in the second. They took the 2-0 lead into the third. Curry would cut the lead in half just two minutes into the final period, as Hannah Grzybowski scored her first career goal. The Colonels would pull their goalie with 90 seconds remaining, but were unable to find an equalizer.
The Colonels held a slight edge in shots at 32-17, and dominated the faceoffs 31-19.
Goalie Coriann Hoag stopped 25 of the 27 shots she faced.
Up Next - The two teams will run it back on Saturday in West Springfield at 7:30pm.
