WORCESTER, Mass. - The Curry College women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-8 decision to Clark University Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Granger Field.
With the loss, Curry sees its overall record fall to 1-6 on the season.
Curry took a 7-5 lead into the locker room, outscoring the hosts by a goal in each the first and second quarters. Senior Sharon Doherty (Easton, Mass.) found the net four times in the first half, while Chloe Chevrier (West Suffield, Conn.) scored twice and Morgan Orr (Bozrah, Conn.) scored once.
The Colonels struggled for offense in the second half, as the Cougars rallied to down Curry while allowing just one goal in the game's final 30 minutes. Orr scored Curry's only goal of the half, coming in the late stages of the third quarter.
Curry senior goalkeeper Jess Ginaitt (Warwick, R.I.) made eight saves in the loss, with seven coming in the first half.
Curry will return to action on Saturday when they open conference play on the road against Salve Regina University. The opening draw from Rhode Island is scheduled for 2 p.m.
