Cassandra Nelson Hired as New Women's Lacrosse Head Coach
Milton, MA – The Curry Athletic Department announced the hiring of Cassandra Nelson as the new Women's Lacrosse coach on Monday.
"I'm super excited to announce that Cassandra Nelson will be our next head coach of Women's Lacrosse," said Athletic Director Vinnie Eruzione. "Both her playing and coaching experience at the DIII level should be an asset to our Women's Lacrosse program and the Athletic Department as a whole. She is passionate about Women's Lacrosse and a positive DIII student-athlete experience. Welcome Cassandra!"
Nelson comes to Curry after a three year stint at Anna Maria, where she served as the Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach. While there she assisted in every aspect of the program, including practice planning, game planning, recruiting, and marketing.
"I'm incredibly honored to be named the head coach of the women's lacrosse program at Curry College. I want to thank the Director of Athletics Vinnie Eruzione and the entire Athletics Department for their confidence in me," said Nelson.
Prior to Anna Maria, she spent a year at New England College as a Graduate Assistant in Student Engagement. While there she also played one year for the Pilgrims.
She spent her undergraduate years at Becker College, participating as a three-sport athlete, playing lacrosse, basketball, and soccer. She was named to a total of four all-conference teams.
"I'm thrilled to join the Colonels community and to begin working with such a dedicated and driven group of student-athletes. Together, we will build upon a foundation of hard work and resilience, with a shared commitment to pushing the program forward and competing at the highest level year after year," said Nelson.
