Milton, MA - The Curry women's lacrosse team fell 16-6 to Suffolk on Tuesday, dropping to 2-4 on the season, and 0-1 in CNE play. The Rams are now 3-3 and 1-0.
In a back and forth first quarter, the Rams scored twice in the first six minutes, and then the Colonels scored twice in 36 seconds, with Nicole Michael and Sydney Upham each scoring off assists from Ella Palanza. But Suffolk would score twice in the final three minutes to go up 4-2 after the first period. The Colonels got within one after another Nicole Michael goal, just 37 seconds into the second period. But Suffolk would score the next 10 goals of the game, with the Colonels getting back on the board with under four minutes left in the third, an Ella Palanza free position shot goal. Both Palanza and Sarah Kelly would score unassisted goals in the fourth.
Goalie Alexa Puopolo stopped 18 of the 34 shots she faced. The 18 saves tied a career high for the junior, and are tied for the 5th most in program history.
