FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – The Curry College women's soccer team traded goals in an end-to-end battle on Wednesday night, ultimately finishing in a 3-3 draw against Framingham State at Maple Street Field. With the result, both teams move to 2-4-2 on the season.
The Colonels got off to a quick start, striking first in the 11th minute. Sophomore midfielder Sarah Crusse converted off a feed from Adelina Young to give Curry an early 1-0 advantage. The Rams responded less than ten minutes later when Grayson Tellier finished a setup from Leiyani Buckner, sending the match into halftime knotted at 1-1.
The second half brought even more action. Curry regained the lead in the 49th minute when senior midfielder Nicole Hudson buried a shot from close range, assisted by Jovi Goldstein, making it 2-1. The advantage was short-lived, as Buckner equalized for Framingham State in the 57th minute with an unassisted strike.
The Colonels surged ahead once more in the 81st minute. Crusse found her second goal of the evening after connecting on a pass from Hudson, putting Curry back in front, 3-2. The brace marked Crusse's third goal of the season and highlighted her strong offensive presence throughout the match.
However, the Rams refused to go away quietly. With less than two minutes to play, Buckner netted her second unassisted goal of the night, salvaging a 3-3 result for the hosts.
Curry tallied 10 shots, six on target, with Crusse leading the way with four attempts. Hudson and Goldstein each contributed offensively, combining for a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Lexi Smardon finished with six saves while facing 13 total shots.
The Colonels will return to Conference of New England (CNE) play on Saturday, travelling with the men's team for a doubleheader at 12 PM and 3 PM.
