Women's Soccer Signs Team IMPACT Player
Milton, MA – This week the Curry Women's Soccer announced a new team member, signing 15 year old Marina Ganetsky through Team IMPACT.
Marina, a courageous stroke survivor, suffered a ruptured AVM when she was 10 years old, officially signed with the team today at Curry. She will participate in many activities with the women's soccer team, including spending quality time having meals together, playing games, crafting and other team events, over the next two years.
Team IMPACT, a national non-profit organization, has developed a unique multiyear program that matches children facing serious illness and disability with college athletic teams across the country. Based on a clinical model, Team IMPACT guides a symbiotic relationship between teams and children focused on socialization, empowerment, and resilience.
Curry has worked with Team IMPACT for the past 14 years, matching 26 children across 14 team.
"From the moment we met Marina, it was clear she would be an incredible addition to the Curry College Women's Soccer program," said head coach Lindsey Garvey. "Marina has an amazing spirit, brightening every conversation and uplifting those around her. She approaches each day with resilience and positivity, leading by example and setting the standard for our team. Marina's signing was not only about welcoming her into our soccer family, it was also a moment to recognize the meaningful impact she has already made on each of us.
