MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's tennis team closed out its 2021-22 season with a 9-0 victory over Lesley University Saturday afternoon at the Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts.

With the win, Curry closes its season with an overall record of 3-16.

The Colonels controlled the action in doubles play to open the afternoon with a 3-0 lead. Sophomore Sasha Borkov (Newton, Mass.) and freshman Serena Wilson (Windsor, Conn.) won 8-1 at first doubles, while junior Lily Turner-Burrell (West Rutland, Vt.) and freshman Cayla Osowski (Westfield, Mass.) won at third doubles by the same score. At second doubles, freshmen Samantha Ferrara (Brewster, N.Y.) and Grace Coopee (Hampden, Mass.) won 8-6 to close out the double sweep.

Curry continued to dominate once singles play got underway. Coopee was perfect with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fifth singles, while Borkov dropped just one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory. At sixth singles, Nicole Moreira (Rehoboth, Mass.) won her first collegiate match with a 6-3, 6-0 decision, while Wilson prevailed at third singles by a score of 6-1, 6-3.

In second and fourth singles respectively, junior Sophia Wiernusz (Collegeville, Pa.) and Ferrara each won by identical 6-2, 6-3 scores to clinch the 9-0 final score.
