Track and Field Competes at CNE Championship
Wenham, MA - Curry's men's and women's track & field teams delivered a strong all‑around performance at the CNE Championships on Friday and Saturday, highlighted by depth, versatility, and impactful freshman contributions across sprints, distance, jumps, throws, and relays. With nearly every Curry competitor competing as a first‑year athlete, the meet served as an encouraging display of the program's developing talent and competitive foundation.
On the track, Curry posted solid results in both sprint and distance events. The men's 4x100 meter relay finished eighth in 47.95, while the men's 4x400 relay earned a seventh‑place finish in 3:44.99 to score team points. On the women's side, the 4x400 relay placed tenth in 4:24.73. JoDanny Fleurival led the men's sprint group with an 11.46 in the 100 meters and an eighth‑place, point‑scoring performance in the long jump (6.37m). Nevaeh Scribner and Samantha Santos anchored the women's sprint efforts, competing in multiple events including the 400 meters and field events. In the distance races, Blaise Denson paced the men with a ninth‑place finish in the 5,000 meters (15:47.63), while Mackenzie Husson, Sarah Kerr, and Laraeler Rossow represented the women in the 800, 1500, and 5,000 meters.
Curry's field events proved to be a major strength, led by standout performances from Theo Joseph‑Seale and Eli Arriaga. Joseph‑Seale scored in three throwing events, finishing fourth in the shot put (13.67m), fifth in the discus (39.53m), and fifth in the hammer throw (41.54m), contributing a significant portion of Curry's team points. Arriaga added a fifth‑place finish in the men's high jump after clearing 1.80 meters and also competed in the triple jump. Morgan Slough showcased exceptional versatility on the women's side by competing in sprint events, multiple throws, and jumps throughout the meet. Additional scoring performances came from Fleurival in the long jump and strong depth showings from Curry throwers and jumpers across men's and women's competition.
Overall, the meet highlighted Curry's emerging freshman class, with multiple athletes contributing across several disciplines and gaining valuable competitive experience.
