DeCosta Named as TCCC Women's Cross Country Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year

MILTON, Mass. – Curry College’s Kimberly DeCosta has been named as The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Senior Scholar-Athlete in the sport of women’s cross country.
The Hudson, New Hampshire native is a Nursing major with a minor in biology. She currently maintains a 3.61 grade-point average through six semesters. DeCosta has twice earned TCCC All-Academic Team honors and was a member of the NCAA Div III Cross Country All-Academic Team. She is a six-time Dean's List student and Dean's Scholarship recipient. DeCosta is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
A four-year letter winner for the Colonels’ cross country squad, she is also a three-year team captain. DeCosta posted a personal best 5k time of 22:41 at the Pop Crowell Invitational in 2007, which is also the 14th-fastest 5k time in school history. Her fastest time during the recently-concluded 2010 season was 23:28 at the Mass. Maritime Invitational on September 11.
In addition to her academic and athletic pursuits at Curry, DeCosta also works as a nurse associate at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in their Transplant Unit, and volunteers for Fitness University Special Olympics.
