Leary Leads Cross Country at Emmanuel Invitational
DORCHESTER, Mass. - The Curry College women's cross country team posted a 12th place finish among 17 teams competing on Friday afternoon at the Emmanuel Invitational.
The Colonels were led by freshman Jessica Leary (Pembroke, Mass.), who finished in 48th place with a time of 23:27. Other Colonel finishers were senior Amy Comeroski (Exeter, R.I.), 25:40 (89th) , senior Kelly Johnson (Burlington, Mass.), 25:43, (90th), freshman Melanie Berube (Beverly, Mass.), 25:48, (95th), sophomore Avery Struthers (Hamden, Mass.), 26:11 (103rd), freshman Danielle Carey (East Bridgewater, Mass.), 26:49 (110th) and freshman Victoria Norton (Fairfield, Conn.), 27:26 (119th).
Lesley University took top honors in the team competition with a score of 51 points, while Babson College (61 points) and Worcester State (65 points) finished as the respective runner-up and third place squads in the event.
Curry returns to action on Saturday October 29, heading to Bristol, R.I. to compete in the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship, time has yet to be determined.
