Canton, MA - The Curry Men's Hockey team bounced back after a tough loss last weekend, to defeat Suffolk 5-2 on Friday. The Colonels are now 2-1-0 on the season, and 1-1-0 in CNE play, while the Rams are 2-2-0 and 2-1-0.

Similar to last week's game against UNE, the Colonels let in an early goal, with the Rams scoring 90 seconds into the game. Unlike last week where the Colonels were slow to respond, they answered the Suffolk goal with one of their own two minutes later, as Blake Rothstein scored off assists from Andrew DellaDonna and Jesse Galassi. Then just past the midway point of the period, Gage Dill took the puck from behind his own net and skated the length of the ice, through defenders, and fired the puck past the goalie to give the Colonels a 2-1 lead after one period.

The Colonels then grew their lead early in the second, as they scored just three minutes into the period, as freshman Chance Uzzell fired a shot in for his first career goal. Late in the period the Colonels were assessed a five minute major penalty. Not only were they able to kill it all, they also were able to get a short handed goal from Killian Rowlee to go up 4-1.

With about five minutes left in the game the Rams got a goal back on the power play, and then pulled their goalie in attempt to inch closer. But with 30 seconds left in the game, Victor Daigneault closed the door with an empty net goal.

Playing in his first game of the season, goalie Cam Smith made 30 saves on 32 shots for the Colonels. While they were outshot 32 to 22, the Colonels controlled the game by winning 38 of the 65 faceoffs.
