Burrillville, RI - The Curry Men's Hockey team defeated Nichols College on Friday by a final score of 6-1, improving to 3-1-0 on the season and 2-1-0 in CNE play. The Bison are now 4-3-0 and 3-1-0.
After a scoreless first period the Colonels scored two goals in the first five minutes of the second period, a power play goal from Gage Dill and then an even strength goal from Jesse Galassi a minute later. The Colonels would add another PP goal later in the period, this time from Shane Carr. The Bison would get one back, but the Colonels would lead 3-1 after two period.
The game really opened up when eight minutes into the third period the Bison were assessed a five minute major penalty. The Colonels would score three times on the power play, with Galassi, Manny Cabral, and Killian Rowlee each finding the back of the net.
The Colonels outshot the Bison 42-19, and won 39 of the 63 faceoffs. Goalie Cam Smith stopped 18 of the 19 shots he faced.
