Canton, MA - The Curry Men's Hockey team beat Wentworth for the second straight day on Saturday, this time beating them soundly 6-1. The Colonels are 15-5-0 on the season and 12-3-0 in CNE play. The Leopards are now 4-14-1 and 3-11-0.
A day after the two teams went to the third period in a scoreless game, the Colonels wasted no time to get on the board. Tyler Isherwood scored seven minutes in, followed by a Killian Rowlee goal with three minutes left in the period. The Colonels added another with just 30 seconds left in the period, this time a power play goal by Casper Soderling. The second period was nearly scoreless, but another late period power play goal made it 4-0, this time off the stick of Victor Daigneault. The Colonels would make it 5-0 six minutes into the third on a Nolan McDonough goal. A Wentworth goal with nine minutes left made it 5-1, but Gage Dill, playing in his 100th career game, put a bow on the game by scoring an empty net goal with just over four minutes left in the game. A week after becoming the 25th player in program history to reach 100 career points, he becomes the 16th to reach 100 career games, joining his teammate Ben Biester who did so earlier this year.
The Colonels outshot the Leopards 39-25, and won the faceoff battle 29-24.
Cam Smith stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced, picking up his 9th win of the season.
Up Next - The Colonels will begin a very important weekend series on Friday when the host Endicott at 7pm.
