Milton, MA - The Curry Men's Hockey team fell to #10/#11 Endicott on Friday night by a final score of 3-0. The Colonels are now 15-6-0 on the season and 12-4-0 in CNE play. The Gulls improve to 15-3-2 and 10-3-2.
Endicott scored just over three minutes into the game, and controlled most of the first period, outshooting the Colonels 15-7. They would take that 1-0 lead into the second period. About seven minutes into the new period, Curry goalie Cam Smith misplayed the puck behind his own net, which led to an open net goal for the Gulls to go up 2-0. They would then add a third goal late in the third period. Things began to get chippy after that, as four different players, two from each team, would get game misconduct penalties.
This shutout snapped a NCAA Era program record of 79 straight games with a goal scored, with the Colonels last being shutout by the same Endicott team on March 4, 2023 in a CCC playoff game. The previous record was 76 straight games, a streak that went from 1/9/2007 to 12/5/2009. The unofficial program record is over 100 games, starting at the very beginning of the program's history.
The Colonels were outshot 39-26, but had a slight edge in faceoffs 36-32.
Cam Smith made 36 saves on 39 shots for the Colonels.
Up Next - The two teams will run it back on Saturday at Endicott at 3pm.
