Sara was born in Livingston, New Jersey...She is currently undecided on her major at Curry...is the daughter of Mark and Suzy Ponik...has one brother, Dean

Before Curry:
Ponik graduated from Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark, New Jersey, where she played varsity ice hockey for four years and women’s lacrosse for two...She was a four-year starter and alternate captain, earning All-Division Honorable Mention...she also played for Ironbound Elite and made history as the first female to play on her high school’s men’s ice hockey team
