Milton, MA - The Curry Women's Volleyball team fell to Nichols on Monday in four sets, losing 19-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-18. The Colonels are now 5-15 on the season, and 0-7 in CNE play. The Bison improved to 8-16 and 2-6.
The Colonels played maybe their best set of the season to open the match, hitting .300. Holding a slim lead throughout, the Colonels went on a7-0 run to take a 22-13 lead. While the Bison would go on a pair of 3-0 runs to close the gap, the Colonels would take the set 25-19. The set win marked the first time the Colonels have won a set in conference play in over three years, dating back to October 15th, 2022, a stretch of 27 matches. They had lost 83 consecutive sets in conference play.
The Colonels would be unable to keep up the stellar play, and the Bison took the next three sets.
Emma Hobart led the team with eight kills, two more than both Ciara Crayton and Morgan Kramer. Jasmyne Fillippini had 17 set assists, while Emma St. Cyr had nine. Fillippini also led the team with eight digs.
Up Next - The Colonels will travel to JWU on Wednesday for a 7pm match.
